Who can Apply?
The Mother Teresa Scholarship is open to students belonging to the following minority religious communities in Kerala:
- Muslim
- Christian
- Sikh
- Buddhist
- Parsi
- Jain
To be eligible, you must also meet the following criteria:
- Be domiciled in Kerala (ordinarily reside in Kerala)
- Have secured admission to a diploma program in nursing or paramedical courses (government, government-aided, or government recognized private institution) through merit-based selection
- Obtained at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination (may vary depending on the course)
- Have an annual family income of less than ₹8,00,000 from all sources (if you belong to the Above Poverty Line (APL) category)
There is no income criteria for students belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected students will receive a financial aid of ₹15,000 per year to help them with their educational expenses. It’s important to note that 50% of the scholarships are reserved for female students. However, if there are not enough eligible female applicants, male students can also be considered.

- Copy of nativity certificate (domicile proof)
- Copy of community certificate or minority certificate
- Income certificate (Assal) from village office (if applicable)
- Copy of ration card (if applicable)
Head of Institution’s Responsibilities
The head of your institution plays a crucial role in verifying your application and documents. Here’s what they need to do:
- Verify the authenticity of all documents submitted by you.
- Approve your application online after verification.
- Ensure the income certificate (Assal) and allotment memo are attached with your application.
- Verify the bank account details (account number, IFSC code, branch name) separately.
- Scrutinize and approve all applications by the specified deadline.
